Methuen, MA- Ernest C. Picard, 81, died Thursday, July 30th at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by those he loved.
Born in Andover on January 19, 1928, Ernest was the son of Felix and Alfena (Landry) Picard.
During World War II, Ernest served in the United States Air Force, until he was honorably discharged at wars end. For many years, Ernest worked as a machinist for Admiral Box Company and later worked for security at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH.
Ernest was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed watching and playing golf.
The widower of the late Dorothy Wrobel Picard, Ernest is survived by his 5 children, Gail Marie Petralia of Haverhill, MA, Linda Rose Wickey and her husband David of York, ME, Ernest R. Picard of Buffalo, WY, Michael J. Picard of Haverhill, MA and Stephen G. Picard and his wife Debbie of Sandown, NH, as well as 4 step-children, Theresa Kobrenski of Hampstead, NH, Joe and his wife Mary Kobrenski of Salem, NH , Ron and his wife Barbara Kobrenski of Methuen, MA, and Richard Kobrenski of Sandown, NH. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Lucille and her husband Norman Saliba of Hampton, NH, and Alice Beliveau of CA, 5 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM at St. Monica’s Church, and burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
