James Rivera, 31 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died accidently Tuesday July 28, following a boating accident in Lowell.
Born in Lowell on January 20, 1978, he was the son of Merida Agosto of Lawrence and received his education in the Lowell schools. Mr. Rivera worked as a laborer for various construction firms in the Lowell area.
In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his step-father, Victor Mercardo Jr. of Lowell; three sons, James Rivera Jr., DeAndre Rivera and Isiah Rivera all of Lowell; a brother, Victor Mercardo III of Lowell; two sisters, Krystal Mercardo and Letitia M. Delgarillo both of Lowell; his paternal grandfather, Victor Mercardo Sr. of Lowell; his maternal grandmother, Generosa Resto of Lowell; two nephews, E’Armani Corporan and Valentino Mercardo both of Lowell; several aunts and uncles and his dear love, Jennifer Lucena of Lowell.
RIVERA- Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, August 4 from 4 until 7 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. (Rte.38). His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at 10 am at St. Patrick Church followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in No. Tewksbury.
