HORNE, Robert B.
Robert Baker Horne, 78, of Walterboro, widower of Evelyn Jane Horne, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at his residence.
A Graveside service will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Mr. Horne was born March 10, 1931 in Fort Blackmore, VA to the late Hurston F. Horne and Phoebe Somaria Kiser Horne. He attended schools in St. Paul, VA. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and fought in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an engineering technician.
Survivors are:
2 Sons: Steve Horne of Altavista, VA and Tim Horne (Joye) of Walterboro, SC
1 Daughter: Elaine Perritte (Larry) of Walterboro, SC;
5 granddaughters and 3 grandsons: Dani Ahrens of Summerville, SC, Larry Perritte, Jr. of Walterboro, SC, Brandee Cromer of Walterboro, SC, Kristina Hanley of Summerville, SC, Larae Horne of Walterboro, SC, Katie Johns of Virginia, Ryan Horne of Virginia and Rob Horne of Virginia and 9 great grandchildren.
