Obituary

SALEM - Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Remon) Conlin, 79, of Salem, wife of the late James E. Conlin, Sr., died Thursday evening, July 30, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Maude (Ritchie) Remon. A lifelong resident of the city, she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

In her younger years, Betty was employed at Parker Brothers in Salem. After raising her family, she worked as a Home Health Aide for many years.

She is survived by one son, James E. Conlin Jr. of Salem, one daughter, Linda Lee Conlin of Lynn, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Conlin of Phoenix, AZ, Melinda Lavis of Lynn, James A. Conlin and his wife Stephanie of Amesbury, four great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Conti of Beverly and many nieces and nephews including Melvin and his wife Diane Creso of Fairfield, ME and Sean Crean of Elmwood Park, NJ. She was the sister of the late Herbert A. Remon, Florence Ambrose, Dorothy Small. Eleanor Creso, Ruth Surels and Katherine Thomas.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am, prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of The North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
