PHILIP J. CRAWLEY, SR., A resident of Hingham for 50 years, died on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 at the John Scott House Nursing Center in Braintree. He was 89. Mr. Crawley served in the United States Coast Guard for almost 30 years during World War II, the Korean War and also the Vietnam War. He was discharged in 1968 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. After his war service he was an administrator with the Prudential Insurance Co., retiring in 1982.
He leaves his wife, Clara G. (Kirkwood) Crawley; and was the father of Gloria C. Pelose and her husband John of Braintree and Philip J. Crawley, Jr. of Weymouth. Grandfather of Jennifer Pelose of Brookline, Michael Pelose of Braintree and Jessica Crawley of San Francisco.
The funeral services and interment are to be private. Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
