Obituary

AUBURN - Paul R. Guerin, 85, devoted husband and father, died Saturday, August 2 at home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Louise A. (Madore) Guerin; four sons Paul R. Guerin, Jr. of Sutton, Ronald R. Guerin of Framingham, Philip D. Guerin of Oxford and Joseph M. Guerin of Spencer; four daughters Anne M. Tobin of Worcester, Angela L. Guerin, Michele D. Guerin and Bernadette M. Engvall all of Auburn; a brother Richard R. Guerin of Oxford; three sisters Cecile C. DesChenes of Auburn, Lorraine T. McDonough of Natick and Claire M. McGee of Quineboag, Connecticut; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers George R. and Normand P. Guerin. He was born in Worcester son of Philias P. and Emma L. (Lambert) Guerin, and attended South High School.

Mr. Guerin worked for Massachusetts Electric Company for 31 years retiring in 1983. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

Mr. Guerin was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Worcester where he served on the Altar Society, Spiritual Life Committee and 120 Club and was a member of the Golden Age Club. He also belonged to the Greendale Men’s Club and the Auburn Seniors. He enjoyed music, especially playing his banjo, bowling, chess, bird watching and camping.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 5 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street, Worcester with a mass at 10 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, August 4 from 5 to 8 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Church, 51 Illinois Street, Worcester, MA 01603
