Oxford...George D."Dave"Rand,76, of 5 Stuart St.,passed away Monday,July 27,2009 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare in Worcester.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years,Nancy C.(Lotti) Rand,two children,David S.Rand and his wife Lori of Webster,and Wendy S. Ansons and her husband Aldis of Monroe,NY.,3 grandchildren,Karlee,Dana,and Perri,one sister,Gladys Cullen of Oxford.
"Dave" was born in Worcester son of George T. and Nettie (Stanley) Rand and lived in Oxford over 45 years.
He was a maintanance supervisor over 30 years at New England Primate Research Center in Southborough.
"Dave" was a loving husband,father,grandfather,brother,uncle and friend,sharing his many talents and generosity with all.He enjoyed fishing,camping,reading,vacations to Florida, and his dog "Princess". He especially enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for friends and relatives.He had a Big Heart and adored his children and especially his 3 grand-daughters.
The Funeral Service for "Dave" will be Friday,July 31,2009 at 10AM at the Charlton City United Methodist Church,74 Stafford St.,in Charlton. Burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton.
Calling hours will be Thursday,July 30,2009 from 5 to 8 PM at the Robert J.Miller-Oxford Funeral Home,247 Main St.,(Route 12 South) in Oxford.
