Obituary

MANCHESTER,NH-Thomas J. Hogan, 94, of Manchester, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, July 23rd in Catholic Medical Center. His wife, Anne J. (McDermott) Hogan died in 2002. He leaves two sons, Thomas J. Hogan, Jr. And his wife Katherine of Reston, VA and James E. Hogan of Worcester, MA; three daughters, Anne C. O'Keefe and her husband Peter and Maureen E. Bennett and her husband William, all of Clearwater, FL and Susan J. Kimmey and her husband Keith of Manchester; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.


Mr. Hogan was born in Pawtucket, RI, the son of James E. and Mary V. (McDermott) Hogan and lived there until 1937 when he moved to Worcester, MA. He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket. In 1932, he graduated from Providence College and received a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy in 1936. Mr. Hogan also attended Northeastern University in Boston and Holy Cross College in Worcester. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII and the Korean War. Thomas worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 33 years and retired as the Personnel Director at the Northampton VA Medical Center in 1980. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the YMCA, the American Legion, the St. Raphael Academy Alumni Association and the Providence College Alumni Association.
