Theresa B. (Voci) Celia 86 years, a lifelong resident of Brockton died peacefully at her home on Sunday July 26, 2009 under the care of her daughter. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel F. Celia and cherished mother of Virginia F. Celia and the late Linda J. (Celia) Stankevitz.
Mrs. Celia was born in Brockton a daughter of the late Nicola and Antonetta (LaMonica) Voci. She had been employed at Codman & Shurtleff a/k/a Johnson & Johnson, and she had also worked as a stitcher for several local garment companies . She was a member of the Mary Kennedy Senior Center where she enjoyed playing whist. She also loved Italian cooking, gardening, musicals, opera, and travelling; especially to Europe, Hawaii, California and Florida. Mrs. Celia’s priority was her family and she enjoyed quality time with them. She was known to be a generous person. She had been a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
In addition to her daughter she is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the sister of the late Marianna I. Terrazano, Beatrice I. DeGirolamo and Joseph S. Voci.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 138) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm.
