Providence, RI - Ellen (Hansen) Bliss, 93, of Borden Street, Providence, RI, formerly of Little Compton, RI, died July 31, 2003 after a long illness. She was the widow of Ambrose G. Bliss. She died at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Providence.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late Abraham T. and Randi (Axelson) Hansen and resided in Little Compton most of her life. She was a member of Old Stone Church, Tiverton, RI. She was employed by the Little Compton Public School System as a food worker at the Josephine Wilbur School.
Mrs. Bliss was a member of the Little Compton Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to crochet.
Survivors include a son: Charles R. Mosher of Little Compton, RI; a daughter: Ellen N. Krupowicz of Little Compton, RI; a brother: Fred Hansen of Long Island, NY; 3 grandchildren: David B. Simmons of Tiverton, RI, Naomi M. Simmons of N. Providence, RI and Heather D. Simmons of Middletown, RI; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was sister of the late Naomi Millius, Marie Barra, Robert Hansen, Arthur Hansen and Mark Hansen.
Visitation 1 hour prior to funeral service Sunday 12-1 P.M.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport, MA.

Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
