Obituary

GILFORD

Robert F. Fecteau, 54, of 15 Burr Lane died August 1, 2003 in his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Laconia on January 7, 1949, the son of Francis D. and Doris M. (Gay) Fecteau.

He was a graduate of Laconia High School, class of 1967 and attended the N.H. Vocational Institute in Concord. He had resided in the Manchester area for twenty years and moved back to the Lakes Region about ten years ago.

Mr. Fecteau was a sales supervisor for Capitol Distributors Incorporated of Concord since 1989. He was the first employee nominated for the “Ironman” award for outstanding service.

During his youth, he was active with Troop 68 of the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Star Scout. Skiing, camping, hiking and fishing were among many of his interests. He served on the Ski Patrol at the Gunstock Ski Area for several years and was an honored member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Mr. Fecteau was an avid golfer and enjoyed following the Boston area professional sports teams as well as the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia and was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876 for more than 25 years. He had served that organization in the office of Esquire.

Family members in addition to his parents of Laconia include his wife, Sue-Ann (Stansfield) Fecteau of Gilford; a daughter Tracy Fecteau Mangione of Port Richey FL; a sister, Nancy M. Fecteau of Laconia; four brothers, Kenneth Fecteau of Pittsfield MA, James Fecteau of Hooksett, Jerry Fecteau of Northfield and William Fecteau of Laconia; two aunts, Jackie Brasley and Shirley Cass, both of Laconia; a niece and several nephews.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. The Laconia Lodge of Elks held a Session of Sorrow Monday at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Church Tuesday at 10 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski was the celebrant. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
