Obituary

CAREY, JAMES R. "TUTU," passed away Saturday, July, 25, 2009 at Norton's Pavilion, Hosparus Inpatient.

He was born in Harrodsburg, KY to John S. and Beulah (Henry) Carey. He was an electrical superintendent for National Carbide/Airco, with 43 years service. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John B. Carey.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Pat (McGrath) Carey and his children: James R. Carey Jr. (Vickie), Joan M. Allen (Glenn), Robert M. Carey (Violet), and Mary Pat Schneider; a daughter-in-Law, Paula (Carey) Poole; 10 grandchildren, Laurie Tackett (James), Amy Coomes (Adam), Steve Berry (April), Jimmy Carey (Stacy), Johnny Carey (Cindy), Alex Moore (Holli), Ian Carey (Nicole), Joey Schneider, Jacob Carey and Jessica Carey; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Annelle Spratt.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Columbine Campus, 7718 Columbine Dr., with cremation to follow.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 3 - 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
