Obituary

PEPPERELL - Douglas M. Law, 72, a resident of Pepperell, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, lost a courageous battle with cancer on Friday July 24th, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Alyce (Mullen) Law, to whom he was married for 53 years.

He was born in Lowell on September 10, 1936, son of the late Arthur Law and Gertrude (Munroe) (Law) Haavie. He attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1954, where he was a Boy Officer and Drum Major.

Doug loved his country and served proudly and honorably in the United States Naval Reserves on the USS Cross from 1955 until 1963.

Prior to his illness, he was employed as a driver for special needs students by the Groton-Dunstable School District. He enjoyed driving these students and had a special fondness for them. He also had been previously employed as a driver by UPS, Diggins and Rose, and R&R Limousine. Earlier in life he was a Reserve Officer for the Westford Police Department.

The most joyous times in his life were those spent in the company of his family. He was also an avid woodworker.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five loving children, Deborah O'Connor and her husband Michael of Pepperell, Douglas Law Jr. of Pepperell, Donna Hebert and her husband Eric of Rockland, ME, Christine Jodry and her husband Greg of Cupertino, CA, and Kimberly Ward and her husband Eric of Ashby; nine adoring grandchildren, Michael Law, Dominique Law, Derek Law, Tristan Hebert, Zachary Jodry, Troy Jodry, Kyle Jodry, Elizabeth Ward, and Ethan Ward; a brother Paul A. Law and his wife Inez of Webster, NY; many nieces and nephews...."And what not".

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut with cremation to follow.
