Josephine N. (Spirito) LaFrazia, of Medford, died Friday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was 80.
The daughter of the late Nicholas and Nellie (Spinetti) Spirito, Josephine lived in Medford all of her life and graduated from Medford High School. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Josephine was very active in several community organizations and supported all of the groups her children participated in whether it be St. Joseph’s Band, cub scouts and other groups. Josephine was also a past president of the St. Joseph’s Mother’s Club. She worked at the former New England Store in Medford Square as well as the former Mystic Bakery.
She was the beloved wife of Pasquale “Pat” LaFrazia. She was a devoted mother to Chip LaFrazia of Peabody and his late wife Bette Anne, Vinny LaFrazia and his wife Karen of Medford and Missy Garrity of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Sylvi, Aaron, Joanna, Andres, Deysi and the dear sister of Vincent, George, William, Salvatore and the late John Spirito.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
