Obituary

Jerome J. “Joe” Riccio passed away on July 24, 2009. He was 78 year old.

Born and raised in the West End of Boston, Jerome graduated from Boston Technical High School and Northeastern University. He was a resident of Arlington for 55 years and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Jerome served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict with a rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Arlington Men’s Retirement Club, the Italian American War Vets of the United States and the Woburn Sportsman Assoc. Inc. Jerome was also a retired police employee having served with the Arlington Police Department followed by 20 years with the MDC Police.

Jerome was the devoted husband of the late Ruth N. (Byrd) Riccio and the loving son of the late Alfred and Almerina (Cataldo). He was the beloved father of John J. Riccio and his wife Gail of Burlington, Karen L.R. Adams and her husband Bill of Medford and Michael J. Riccio and his wife Regina of Taunton. Jerome was the dear brother of the late Dante Riccio and the cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Jason, Danielle, Brian, Anthony and Glenn Riccio and Billy and C.J. Adams. He is also survived by Alaina Sweeney of NH.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, July 28th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, July 27th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
