Adele P. (Shusas) Carrstedt, 91, of Delray Beach, FL, died Tuesday, July 29, while visiting her grandson in Millis, Mass.
Her husband, Eric F. Carrstedt, died in 1974. She leaves two sons, Paul Layfulde of Indiana and Milton Carrstedt of Florida, a daughter, Jean Brigida with whom she lived, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, a niece, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Shusas, and a sister, Ella Paganelli, who were twins.Mrs. Carrstedt was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul P. and Victoria (Kuczinas) Shusas. She attended Worcester schools and graduated from Commerce High.
Mrs. Carrstedt was a resident of Holden for more than 30 years. Before moving to Florida, she lived in Worcester. She was a typist in the shipping department of Norton Company, retiring in 1973. Mrs. Carrstedt was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Rebecca’s of Zion and its bowling league, and the Norton Caravan Club.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 2, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, (www.NordgrenMemorialChapel.com), 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester.Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 7-9 p.m., Friday, August 1, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
