George B. McCotter, born in Denver, CO, on June 20, 1947, died July 18, 2009, in Ashburn, GA, following a short illness. He graduated from East High in Denver, CO, and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is survived by Leslie Swygert, his spouse of 25 years, of Ashburn, GA; a brother, Jim, of Denver, CO; a sister, Jane, of Bainbridge Is., WA; an aunt, Laura June, of Lincolnshire, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. George was a multi-faceted mold–breaking free spirit. Among many accomplishments, his life-long love for wildlife of all kinds was memorialized with countless spectacular photographs he took in the wilds and under the waters during his extensive travels in the U.S. and around the world.
