TEWKSBURY - Laura T. (Bradley)(Doucette) Pentz, age 84, matriarch of a well known Tewksbury family, died Friday morning, July 24, at her home following a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Bernard E. Doucette, and later, the late Thomas Pentz.
She was born in East Boston, November 17, 1924, one of six children of the late Henry and Marie (Blaquiere) Bradley. She was raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School. She lived in Wilmington before moving to Tewksbury in 1945.
She was employed from 1954 until 1966 with the cafeteria staff for the Town of Tewksbury's Shawsheen School. In 1976, she joined the staff of the Alton Company in Wilmington, and retired as a group leader in the assembly department in 1989.
She was well known in the area Bingo circles, and also enjoyed day trips to Foxwoods in Connecticut. She enjoyed camping trips with her family and in her earlier years bowled "candlepins" in Wilmington and "ten pins" in the North Reading leagues.
She is survived by three sons, Henry E. Doucette and Eugene J. Doucette both of Tewksbury, Lawrence J. Doucette of Wilmington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Mary Doucette of Tewksbury, Roberta T. (Pentz) Kondry and her husband Brian of Danville, NH, Robert J. Pondelli of Tewksbury, who was the husband of her late daughter, Donna Marie Pondelli; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Doucette of Tewksbury, who was the wife of her son, the late Bernard "Bernie" "Buddy" Doucette; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Edward, Dennis, Henry and Joseph Bradley, and Marie Dias.
Her Funeral Service was be held Tuesday, July 28, in the funeral home. Burial followed in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Memorials to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
