Karen A. (Sylvia) Ciccia, age 57, died Wednesday morning, July 22, 2009 in Medford, after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston's North End, Karen was the loving daughter of Caroline (Pelosi) Sylvia of the North End of Boston. Loving daughter of the late George Sylvia.
Karen was born and raised in Boston's North End and graduated from Julie Billiart High School in Boston. In 1971 she and her beloved husband Salvatore "Sonny" Ciccia moved to Medford to raise their family. In 1993 she began working at U.S.I., an insurance company formerly known as Hastings-Tapley Insurance, located in Cambridge. She worked as an Administrative Assistant and retired on September 5, 2007.
Karen enjoyed vacationing on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire with her loving and supportive family.
In addition to her beloved husband Sonny, and loving mother Caroline, Karen is survived by her devoted children. Jason Ciccia, Dana Ciccia, his wife Keri, Jennifer Bruno and her husband Christopher all of Medford. Loving grandmother of Marco, Sienna and Torre. Also survived by many loving friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
