Obituary

Methuen, MA- Philip C. “CHOPS” Racioppi Jr., 67, died Sunday, July 19th, 2009 at his home surrounded by those he loved.

Born and educated in Somerville, Philip was the son of Philip C. Sr. and Rose M. (Spinosa) Racioppi. For over 20 years Chops worked for the MBTA throughout the Greater Boston area, before his retirement in 1990.

Phil’s family was number 1, and his greatest joy was spending time and being with them. He also enjoyed restoring cars and most recently, riding motorcycles.

Philip is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosemary M. (Solano) of Methuen, 3 daughters, Gina and her husband Eddie Kelley of Boxford, Roseann and her husband Kenny Avola of Methuen, and Kim and her husband James Kleeberger also of Methuen, 3 sons, Raymond Racioppi, P.J. Racioppi, and John J. Racioppi, all of Methuen. He is also survived by his brother Austin Racioppi of Salisbury, as well as 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his brother, John A. Racioppi.

ARRANGEMENTS: Arrangements were private and under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. in Methuen.
