Kenneth Allen Strassel, of Plymouth, passed away at home at the age of 63 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Carolyn (Shilling) of Plymouth and father of Sandra Strassel of Plymouth, Shawn Strassel of Oswego, NY; Beth Mills of Plymouth, Lisa Colbert of Plymouth, Jay Vender of Quincy, Rob Vender of MD; and Stacey Stetson of Plympton and son of Marion Strassel (Morey) and the late William Strassel of Plymouth. He also leaves his brothers Francis “Fran” Strassel and his wife Maryann and David Strassel both of Plymouth and Karl Strassel and his wife Terry of South Mills, NC; his 10 grandchildren and his brother-in-law Jay Shilling and his wife Reginia. Brother of the late Annette Doerty and her husband Gary. Ken graduated from Plymouth High School and served in the U.S Army in the 12th Transportation Company during Vietnam. He had worked at M&M Sporting Goods, construction in Maine, the Plymouth Power Plant, Boston Whaler Boats, and the past 10 years for the Town of Plymouth Highway Department. Ken was a member of the Seaside Club for over forty years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his family. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd at St. Mary’s Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Tuesday July 21st from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360 or to the American Cancer Society – Plymouth Unit, 1115 W. Chestnut St, Brockton, MA 02301.
