Zeola Purvis Arnold Moore, 82, of Tifton died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Gene Arnold, Tate Arnold, Scott Moore, Mike Purvis, Charles Young, Donald Dempsey and Jimmy Griffin will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Moore was born on October 28, 1926 in Tift County and was the daughter of Jacob Purvis and Marbell Owens Purvis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Gene Arnold and H. M. Moore, Jr.; one son, Steve Anthony Moore; one brother, J. P. Purvis; and three sisters, Kathaleen P. Young, Laverne P. Averitt and Virginia Purvis. She was retired from Tri-County Gas Company as a bookkeeper and was a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Tift Area Rescue Team.
Mrs. Moore is survived by one son, Morgan Eugene Arnold, Jr.; two sisters, Shirley P. Clifton of Wakulla, Florida and Carol Digregorio of East Islip, New York; a sister-in-law, Sue Purvis; five grandchildren and their spouses, Gene "Shotgun" Arnold III and his wife, Jennifer, Tate and Amy Arnold, Scott Moore, Shelley Moore and Allison Moore; five great grandchildren, Morgan E. Arnold IV, Nathaniel D. Arnold, Marlie Arnold, Gowan T. Arnold and Gabriel J. Arnold; and a special niece and nephew, Diane and Bill Cowden.
