Charles A. “Charlie” Camelli, 78, of Park Ave. died Saturday at Oakland Grove Health Center in Woonsocket with his family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Theresa R. Camelli, to whom he was married on Sept. 22, 1956.
Born and raised in Milford, he was a son of the late Frank and Grace (Sebastian) Camelli. He lived in Bellingham for several years and resided in Woonsocket for over 35 years.
Mr. Camelli worked as a self-employed carpentry contractor and then in the maintenance dept. of CVS in Woonsocket before retiring.
Charlie enjoyed hunting and was a staunch Patriots fan. He was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and volunteered for various parish activities over the years. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a son Mark Camelli, and his wife Robin, of Woonsocket, two daughters Cindy Camelli and Elizabeth Viens, both of Woonsocket, and a granddaughter Alicia Camelli of Newton, MA. He was the brother of Josephine Taft and Marie Cote, both of Bellingham, and the late John Camelli and Frances Nuttle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony’s Church, Greene St. Woonsocket.
