In Stoughton, July 16, 2009, William E. Sullivan after a period of failing health at the age of 77. William is survived by his beloved wife Mildred (Lewis) Sullivan. He was born in Taunton to his late parents John & Anna (Slattery) Sullivan. William has lived most of his life in Taunton and North Dighton. He attended Taunton schools, graduated from Monsignor Coyle High School and later from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. William was the head of the English department at Somerset High School where he was also the golf coach. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Segregansett Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors, and he served on the MA. Golf Association Executive Committee. William leaves his daughter Michaela and her husband Joseph Peter Hayes III of Mansfield. His grandchildren Connor Sullivan Hayes and Bryanna Elizabeth Hayes of Mansfield. His siblings David of ST. Petersburg, FL. Nancy Sullivan of Libertyville, Illinois and Michael of St. Petersburg, FL. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Tuesday, July 21st at 8am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton at 9am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on visiting hours on Monday, July 20, from 4-7pm.
