Leo Homsy of Dorchester passed away on July 17, 2009 at the age of 80.
Leo worked as a meat packer for much of his life. He was very handy and loved working with his hands: he helped both his son Edward, and his brother Elias build their homes. Leo also worked doing maintenance for St. Mary's Church in Cambridge.
Leo was the dear and devoted husband of the late Selma (Homsy). Loving father of Madeline Homsy of Randolph, Joanne Homsy of GA and Edward Homsy of Randolph. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Kathleen, Alexandra, and William. Dear brother of Lillian Winters of Falmouth and the late Elias Homsy, Olga Homsy, Jimila DiFranza and Emily Detert. Dear Brother in law of Mary Homsy and Charles Andrews, both of Quincy. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Leo's Funeral Service was held July 21, 2009 at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church 8 Inman St. Cambridge, MA. Contributions in Leo's memory may be made to the Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
