Obituary

Adrien A. Desmarais, 90, of 4 Amherst St., formerly of Holden, died Monday, July 28, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.

His wife of 53 years, Annette A. (Heinzle) Desmarais, died in April. He leaves three sons, Steven P. Desmarais of Princeton, Richard J. Desmarais of North Fayston, Vt., and David E. Desmarais of West Tisbury; a daughter, Linda M. Sheridan, with whom he lived; two brothers, Paul V. Desmarais of Grafton and Robert N. Desmarais of Yorktown, Va.; a sister, Anita M. Whiterell of Grafton; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. A brother and a sister predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of H. Arthur and Aline M. (Angers) Desmarais, and lived more than 50 years in Holden. He attended Grafton schools.

Mr. Desmarais was a quality control supervisor for Reed Rolled Thread Die Co., retiring in 1977 after more than 40 years. He was a member of St. George's Church, Worcester, the Nimrod League of Holden and the Chaffins Men's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, reading and playing cribbage.

The funeral will be held Thursday, July 31, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester (www.NordgrenMemorialChapel.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, in the funeral home.
