DRACUT - Stanley J. Kosidlo, 84, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Thursday, July 16th at Langdon Place of Nashua, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Sophie (Wrobel) Kosidlo, with whom he celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary on June 26th.
He was born in Lowell on January 14, 1925, and was a son of the late Peter and Aniela (Piwowarek) Kosidlo. He received his education in the Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Mr. Kosidlo served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a Proof Reader by the former Courier Citizen in Lowell.
In his free time he enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren. Earlier in his life he was an avid bowler.
He was a communicant of St. Casimir's Church in Lowell, and he was a member of the Polish American Veterans in Lowell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stanley P. Kosidlo and his wife Linda of Tyngsboro; two daughters, Deborah Starenas and her husband Paul of San Diego, CA, and Linda Hogan and her husband Daniel of Lowell; three grandchildren, Joseph Kosidlo and James Kosidlo, both of Tyngsboro, and Daniel Hogan of Lowell; two sisters, Stella Inglis of Lowell and Virginia Chaisson of Pelham, NH; a sister-in-law, Bertha Kosidlo of Dracut; a brother-in-law, Felix Wrobel of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Peter Kosidlo, Mary Makarewicz, and Sophie Cielakie.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Monday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Casimir's Church in Lowell.
