CARVER, Evelyn (Moynihan), of Winthrop, died peacefully in her home with her family around her, on July 14, 2009. She was a proud citizen and an independent 91 year old that lived a full life up to her unexpected death. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. “Barney” Carver. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Mae A. (Kelley) Moynihan. Wonderful mother to Ann and Marie “Skip” Carver, both of Winthrop, and Gene “Gino” Carver of Dorchester. Loving grandmother of Tim Carver of Plainville, MA, Jean Denise Mathews of Cherryfield, ME, and Michele D’Amelio of Winthrop. Proud great-grandmother of Nicholas Carver, Katy and Jenny Mathews, Richard, Sage and Ariana D’Amelio, and Ella and Owen Carver. Sister of the late George L. Moynihan and Ruth M. Walsh. Sister-in-law of Anna Moynihan and the late Josephine and Joseph Carver, the late Larry Walsh. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St, WINTHROP, on Saturday, July 18, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church at 10am. Relatives and friends invited. The Church is handicapped accessible. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery. Member of the Winthrop Catholic Women’s Club, and the former St. John’s School Mother’s Club. She was a member or past member of the Winthrop Historical Society, Winthrop Senior Center, Dollars for Scholars, Winthrop Emblem Club #15, and the former Chase School PTO.
