Orange
Norman C.J. Lavoie, 79, of Orange and former resident of Fitchburg, died
Friday July 10, at home.
Norman leaves his sons David P. Lavoie of Leominster and Randall C.
Lavoie and his wife Mary Jane of Dacula, GA. His daughters Jane M. and
her husband Charles Manewich of Athol and Patricia A. Lavoie of
Worcester. His step-children and their spouses, Edwarld L. Fortin and
Kerri of Marlboro, Charles L. Fortin and Amy of San Diego, Ca., Brenda L.
Dupre and Mike of Lunenburg, Donna L. Miller and Greg of Marin County,
Ca. and Andrea L. Fortin of Worcester. Three grandchildren, six great
grandchildren. Seventeen step-grandchildren and five step great
grandchildren. His first wife Lorraine T. (Belmore) died August 6, 2005. His
second wife Claire (Fortin) died February 16, 2006. His brother Raymond J.
Lavoie died January 20, 1996.
Norman was born in Fitchburg November 4, 1929, the son of Leo and Vieno
(Herala) Lavoie and lived in Fitchburg until moving to Orange 13 years ago.
He was a self employed carpenter contractor. He previously was employed
as a cook at the former Kendall Catering Co. in Fitchburg. He then worked
at Heywood Hospital in Gardner in the maintanance Department. He was a
former member of the Free Masons. Norman Loved gardening and was a
wonderful cook. He was an avid reader and sports fan. His family was his
life. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
The funeral for Norman will be held on Friday July 17, from the Bosk
Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg with a calling hour from 8 to 9:30
A.M. followed by a Mass of Ressurection in St. Joseph Church at
10:00A.M. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
