WORCESTER___Laura H. (Niziolek) Pluta, 95, of Worcester died Sunday July 12, 2009 in Saint Francis Home, 101 Plantation St. Her husband, Joseph W. Pluta died in 1980.
She leaves two daughters, Elaine T. Miller of Edgartown and Marlyce V. Devine of Mashpee; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. She was born in Holland, Ma., a daughter of Stanislaw and Ewa (Lambrych) Niziolek and had lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Mrs. Pluta was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and its Women’s Guild and Sacred Heart Sodality. She volunteered many years for the church festivals and was a member and past president of the Polish Women’s Club. Laura was a graduate of Commerce High School.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 17 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, July 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Laura’s name to Saint Francis Home, 101 Plantation St., Worcester, Ma., 01604-3025.
