Christopher B. Hackett, age 47, of Pendleton Hill Road, husband of Wendy Owen Hackett, passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 10, 2009.
He was born August 2, 1961 the son of James and Diane Hackett.
Chris was a well-known Local Musician and Owner of Mojo Music in Westerly, Rhode Island. He was a member of several bands in the area of the years most recently he was a member of Signs of Life and The Burden. Over the years Chris taught many the love of music and had several current students. Chris was also an accomplished Chef and worked in many of the best restaurants in the area over the years. Chris also was very active in Alcoholic Anonymous and touched many lives with his undying generosity and unconditional love.
In addition to his wife Wendy and his dog Mojo, Chris is survived by his mother, Diane(Jill) Hackett of Coventry CT, his sister Brenda Meyers and husband Scott Earle of Hampton CT, his brother James Hackett of Windham CT, nephews Jordan Meyers of Manchester and Justin Meyers of Hampton; nieces Elizabeth Owen and Jessica Owen. Godchildren Thomas Hunt of Coventry CT and Molly and Grace McKrey of Hopkinton RI, age 5; and his in-laws Douglas and Sandra Owen of Gales Ferry CT, his brother-in-law Duane Owen and his wife Rhonda of Norwich and countless friends.
He will be missed and never forgotten.
A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday July 19, 2009 at 2:00pm at First Congregational Church, 1171 Main Street Coventry CT 06238. A burial service will take place on Monday July 20th at 11:00am at Elm Grove Cemetery.
