Obituary

Shaun Tomas "Tom" Hunt, 20, of 31 East Fourth St., Collegeville, Pennsylvania died Saturday July 12, 2003 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Perkiomen Township. He was the son of Shaun A. and Susan A. (Boodry) Hunt of Collegeville.

Born in Salem, MA, he lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland, before moving to Collegeville several years ago.

He was a communicant of St. Eleanor Roman Catholic Church.

Tom was employed by Mainline Security in Bryn Mawr.

He was a 2001 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School, where he was on the ROTC Rifle team, track team, wrestling team, and soccer team. He later attended Kutztown University to study to be a teacher. While at college, he discovered his love for rugby. He loved children and was especially gifted in handling difficult children. He had worked for the YMCA and the Perkiomen School District summer camp.

Tom's favorite loves were his family and friends. He was very proud of his cars. He was constantly washing and waxing his jeep and a recent Ford Thunderbird.

Survivors include his parents; 2 brothers, Seamus P. Hunt and Edward H. "Ned" Hunt, both of Collegeville; his grandmothers, Helen (Radock) Boodry of Clinton, MA and Dorothy (Hackett) Hunt of South Dartmouth; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was the grandson of the late Harry Carter Hunt and Paul Boodry.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday July 15, 2003 in St. Eleanor Roman Catholic Church in Collegeville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Collegeville Borough Parks and Recreation Department, 491 E. Main St., Collegeville, PA 19426, or to the Perkiomen Trail Coalition, P.O. Box 23, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
