Obituary

John B. "Tita" Pinheiro, 65 of New Bedford died July 12, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Turibio and Leopoldina (Azevedo) Pinheiro, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Pinheiro was the former proprietor of Doc Kennedy's Tavern.
He enjoyed flea markets, yard sales, old cars and fishing.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Tanya Pinheiro of New Bedford, Claudina DeTerra, Cerila Pinheiro-Wiltsie and Susan Pinheiro, all of Ft. Myers, FL and Jennifer Rivet of Rhode Island; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Sebastian Pinheiro of Dartmouth and Hildebrando Pinheiro of Pawtucket; 5 sisters, Esmeralda Caldas, Eulalia Pinheiro and Ida Smith, all of New Bedford, and Celina Almeida and Lourdes Pereira, both of Fairhaven; his former wife, Deolinda Miguel of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late John Pinheiro and brother of the late Hilario Pinheiro.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, July 17th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, July 16th from 4-8 PM.
