Virginia V. (Klingman) Duerr, 85, of Sandy Hollow Road, Mystic, wife of Eben Duerr, died Sunday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Duerr is survived her children, Joyce Spindler of N. Reading, MA., George C. Perkins of Key Largo, Fla., Eben Duerr Jr. of Middletown, Judy Williams of Vanceboro, NC, Carole Burdick of Ledyard, Dennis Duerr of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Adelaide Holt of Florida; 21 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Webster.
There will be a private family service at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic. There are no visiting hours. Private burial will be in Poquetanuck Cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations in Mrs. Duerr’s memory be made to the Lisa Spindler Scholarship Fund, c/o Fleet Bank, Park Street, North Reading, MA 01864. (This scholarship, in memory of Mrs. Duerr’s grandaughter, is awarded each year to a deserving student).
