Raymond R. Giard, 89, formerly of Mendon Rd., died Saturday in Bayberry Commons, Pascoag. Mr. Giard was the husband of Albertine (Charette) Giard. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Zotique and Leona (Picard) Giard. Mr. Giard was a lifelong city resident, and along with his brother the late Lionel Giard, was an owner/operator of Giard's Cleaners on Cumberland St. in Woonsocket for over forty years. Mr. Giard was also a WWII army veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five children; Raymond Giard of Aberdeen, MD, Roger Giard of Chepachet, Lorraine Giard , Doris Sweeney, and Claire Giard, all of Woonsocket, five grandchildren, ten great grand children, and one sister Florence Courschesne of Woonsocket. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00AM from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. , Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 6-8PM.
