Lawrence, Ma. – Barbara Salem, 86, died July 9, 2009 at the Mary Immaculate Health Care Services in Lawrence.
A longtime Lawrence resident where she received her education Barbara was the daughter of Joseph and Freida (Rokous) Salem.
For years Miss Salem had been employed as a secretary with Lincoln Foods prior to her retirement.
Barbara was a communicant of many years at Saint Anthony’s Maronite
Church of Lawrence and a member of their Church Sodality.
Having never married, Barbara’s source of comfort were her cousins who were her only living relatives.
She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Fred, Badale “Buddy” Salem, and aunt Sophie Rokous.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in Saint Anthony’s Maronite Church in Lawrence with burial to follow in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery of Methuen.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 8:45-9:45 A.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
