Nancy C. Gadsby, 76, of E. Derry, NH, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Mrs. Gadsby was born in Newburyport, MA on September 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Regan) Jacques. She was a resident of E. Derry for the past 39 years, formerly living in Manchester since 1957. She grew up in Newburyport and married Philip C. Gadsby on January 8, 1955 in Newburyport. Mrs. Gadsby enjoyed camping, especially in the White Mountains. She was a loyal wife and wonderful mother who dearly loved her grandchildren, being surrounded by her family and family photos. Warm chocolate pudding and custard pie were two of her favorites.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip C. Gadsby of E. Derry, four children, Katherine Winmill and her husband William of Hampstead, NH, Michael Gadsby and his wife Joanne of Chester, NH, Pamela Edgecomb and her husband Kevin of Sandown, NH, James Gadsby and his wife Leslie of Derry, six grandchildren, Philip and Kirsten Winmill, Jeffrey and Heather Edgecomb, Cody and Sydney Gadsby and also by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Colby-Lunt and Mary Walker.
Visiting hours were held from 9:30 to 11:00am on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
