John S. Guanci Jr., 60, of Redfield Circle, Derry, NH died Saturday July 26, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, following a brief illness. He was born on April 27, 1943 in Somerville, MA, a son of the late John S. and Rose (Solimini) Guanci Sr. He was a resident of Derry for eight years, formerly living in Berkley, MA. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He was also a member of the Raymond Sportmans Club, Raymond, NH. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, target shooting, bird watching, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Ruthann (Tottle) Guanci of Derry, one daughter Deborah J. Pearl and her husband William of Hooksett, one grandson Jonathan Pearl of Hooksett, NH, one brother James Guanci of Buford, GA, one sister Carol Schmalz of Boca Raton, FL, also nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Anthony Guanci.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Tuesday July 29th at 6:00pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. Burial will be on Wednesday in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Derry Humane Society, 57 Lawrence Road, Derry, NH 03038.
