Mary Jean (Daley) Lorditch-LaPlume, 89, of 9 Mohawk Ave. and formerly of Rochdale died Wednesday, July 8 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester.
Her husband George LaPlume died in 1993. She leaves four sons Anthony J. Lorditch of North Hampton, Vincent J. Lorditch and his wife Donna of Plainville, Mark R. Lorditch and his wife Marilyn of Windsor, CT, Matthew Lorditch and his wife Renee of Charlton, three daughters Maureen J. McDonald of Worcester, Suzanne Lorditch, a.k.a. Kelsang Kalden, Ordained Buddhist Nun of the New Kadampa Tradition of Webster, Laura A. Lenihan of Oxford, a sister Margaret Lapinsky of Auburn, 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and the LaPlume family of Western, MA. She is pre-deceased by her first husband Robert A. Lorditch who died in 1961 and a son Patrick M. Lorditch, PFC who died in 1968, a brother Joseph Daley and a sister Katherine Ledoux.
Mrs. Lorditch-LaPlume was born in Worcester daughter of John and Margaret A. (Breen) Daley. She was a Nurse at the former Clark Manor Nursing Home for many years before retiring. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School and David Hale Fanning Trade school both in Worcester and the U.S. Naval Hospital Corps. School in Bethesda, Maryland. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 11 from MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM.
