Kathryn Reardon, 95 of Norwood died July 7 in the Hellenic Nursing Center in Canton.
Born in Norwood, September 25, 1913, the daughter of the late Timothy J. and Mary (Fahey) Riordan, Miss Reardon was raised in Norwood and had lived in the Back Bay section of Boston for many years before returning to Norwood after she retired.
Miss Reardon was a graduate of Norwood High School and following her passion, she went on to graduate in 1935 from the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Brighton.
Kay worked for 23 years for Dr. Lynn Gately in East Boston. Miss Reardon then worked for 22 years for the City of Boston as a Public Health Supervisor in East Boston. Kay was selected to be on the cover of the Massachusetts Nurses’ Association Bulletin for her many years of dedication to the Public Health Department.
Miss Reardon enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Hawaii, Florida, New Jersey, Spain, England, Scotland and Wales.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Yadlovski and her husband, Steve of Norwood.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 8 sisters and 3 brothers.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 11 in St. Timothy’s Church in Norwood at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 10: 30-11:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St., Walpole.
