DRACUT - Sally Mary (Witts) Robitaille, 86, a longtime Dracut resident died Tuesday evening July 7, 2009, in the Fairhaven Nursing Care Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of George T. Robitaille of Dracut to whom she was married for 66 years.
Born in Lowell on October 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Mary (Connelly) Witts. She received her education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
In her early years Sally had been employed at various textile mills in Lowell. The majority of her life was spent she devoted to tending to the needs of her family and home.
She was a communicant of St. Rita Church in Lowell and in her free time she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Marianne and Blynn Estes of Hudson, NH; two sons James Robitaille of Hudson, NH and Paul Robitaille and his wife Carol of Londonderry, NH; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Christine Witts of Methuen and Cynthia Witts of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother-in-law of the late Barbara Robitaille and sister of the late Lillian Nowicki, Dorothy Shaw, Adeline Weaver, and Helen, Ted, Thomas, Albert, Frank, and Raymond Witts.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 AM followed by committal prayers celebrated at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Memories at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
