Obituary

James J. Murray, 75, of Danville, NH died Tues. July 7th at his home.

Jim was born and educated in Lawrence graduating from Lawrence High School in 1953. He served in the US Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, VA aboard the USS Neosho. Jim lived in Salem, NH for 39 years. He and Sara moved to Iron Wheel Park in Danville, 6 years ago, and have enjoyed living there and spending time with their wonderful neighbors.

Jim retired from Textron in Wilmington, MA where he worked as an engineer. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Peterson Council #4442 of Salem and a life member of the Lawrence Elks Lodge #65. Jim was a talented handyman who enjoyed home repair and tinkering. He loved spending time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the Manchester VA Medical Center and Dr. Michael Stein of Hampstead for the wonderful care they gave to Jim.

His wife of 52 years Sara (Stella) Murray of Danville, NH

2 Sons: James Murray, Jr. and his wife Maryanne of Auburn, NH
Michael Murray of Methuen, MA

Sister: Ann Hildebrand of Gloucester, MA

2 Grandchildren: Jason and Samantha Murray

Brother-in-law: Louis Stella and his wife Maryann of Lawrence, MA

Calling hours are Thurs. July 9th from 4-8 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Mass is Fri. at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Church in Salem. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
