Methuen, MA- Stanley Panazuk, 87, died Monday July 6, 2009 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Born in Lawrence, Stanley was the son of Sam and Elizabeth (Lukasiewicz ). He was educated in the Lawrence School System and upon graduation, Stanley served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He received many medals including the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with 3 stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 stars.
Upon return from the war, Stanley worked for Raytheon. In 1954, Stanley began his illustrious career as a reserve firefighter for the Methuen Fire Department and retired as a Fire Fighter in 1984.
Stanley was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching their games of TV. One of his favorite past times was reading the newspaper, cover to cover every day.
Stanley will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years, Claire (Rousseau), his sister Helen Lewis of CA and many nieces and nephews. He was also pre-deceased by his two brothers, Felix and Victor.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., in Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday morning, July 10th at 9 o’clock at OLGC- St. Augustine’s Chapel in Lawrence, with Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
