Obituary

CHADBOURNE R. DIXON, a Hull resident for almost 30 years, died on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 at Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Center in Kingston. He was 89. Mr. Dixon was born and raised in Cambridge. He graduated from Rindge High School in Cambridge and served with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Dixon was the Founder, President and Treasurer of Atlantex Zeiler Instruments, a scientific instrument company located in Dedham. He was an active Mason and was a member of Charity Lodge in Cambridge and served as District Deputy Grand Master for the Cambridge 2nd Masonic District. He also was a Boy Scout leader during his years in Cambridge.

He leaves his wife Phyllis M. (Kitfield) Dixon, and was the father of; Donna Dixon and Ralph Dixon both of Hull, Linda Dixon of Middleboro, Bruce Dixon of Billerica and Robert Dixon of Monkton, VT. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 11th at 1 PM at St. Nicholas Methodist Church, 130 Spring St., Hull, MA 02045, where he has been an active member for many years.

Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hull Public Library Foundation, P.O. Box 428, Hull, MA 02045 or to St. Nicholas Methodist Church.

The interment is private.
