Obituary

Mr. Samuel A. Shaheen, age 90 of Medford, died Sunday in Brooksby Village, Renaissance Garden Peabody. He is the husband of Maria (Mercurio) Shaheen with whom he shared more than 39 years of marriage. Mr. Shaheen was born in Providence, RI. the son of the late Charles and Julia (Ellis) Shaheen. A veteran of WWII he served in the U.S. Army in the 1st Battalion 182nd infantry and fought in the Infamous Battle of Guadal Canal.
For many years he worked in the printing business in both the Lowell and Chelmsford areas. He was also a trained auto mechanic, which became a hobby in later years. He enjoyed photography, woodworking and computers and working in the garden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters: Virginia Shaheen of North Reading and Mary Shaheen of Norfolk.
Funeral From the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday at 9 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4 - 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sam’s name may be sent to the Italian Home For Children, 1125 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
