Mildred H. Carapezza, age 84 of Medford, passed away Friday following a brief illness. Born in Boston, Mildred was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Ellena (DiVino) Zannino. Mrs. Carapezza was a life long resident of Medford and was the devoted wife of fifty-one years to the late Medford “Hero” Police Officer Carmelo “John” Carapezza.
Mrs. Carapezza was a former hostess at Blinstrub´s Night Club and manager of the designer division at Bonwitt Tellers for many years. During her working years, Mrs. Carapezza was befriended by numerous entertainers and Boston area dignitaries. Mrs. Carapezza is survived by one son, Dr. Leonard and his wife Nancy of Wayland, three daughters, Joanne and her husband Frank Caruso of Lynnfield, Linda and her husband Dr. Walter Murphy of Plymouth, Deby and her husband Atty. Eric Gervais of Newburyport. Mrs. Carapezza is also survived by fourteen loving grandchildren and eight loving great grandchildren and is the sister of Warren Zannino of Peabody, Rose Giannantonio of Malden, the late Pat, Ed and Richard Zannino.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Oak grove Cemetery, Medford.
