Beatrice M. (Tavares) Rogers, 82, of New Bedford died July 6, 2009 at home after a long illness.
She was the wife of Daniel W. Rogers.
Born in Wareham, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Ana (Ribeiro) Tavares, she lived in Mashpee for 34 years before moving to New Bedford.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Rogers enjoyed singing, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband; 5 daughters, Audrey Soares, Jewel Silva, Geraldine Figueroa, Carline Silva and Margaux Rogers; 2 sons, Kevin Silva and Daniel Rogers, Jr.; a sister, Virginia Santos of Providence; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rudolph Tavares and Gilbert Tavares.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Thursday, July 9th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday, July 8th from 4-8 PM.
