Methuen, MA- Mark J. Palermo, 88, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Lawrence, Mark was the son of John and Lucy (Cardone) Palermo. Mark was educated in the Lawrence School System and was a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of ‘38. During World War II, Mark served his country in the Air Force.
For 35 years Mark worked for Bay State Gas Company until retiring in 1982.
Mark was an avid golfer and also enjoyed traveling. He was a family man and loved spending time with his family.
Mark will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Mary A. (Kluck), daughter Maryanne and her husband Steve Gerdnic of FL, 2 sons, Mark and his wife Esther Palermo of Haverhill, and John and his wife Suzanne Palermo of St. Johnsbury, VT and 5 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence, St. in Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning, July 9, 2009 at 9 o’clock at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen.
