Obituary

Mr Gerard G. Bonenfant, of Taunton, died Thursday, July 2 in the Life Care Center
of West Bridgewater following a period of failing health. He was the husband of the
late Theodora L. (LePage) Bonenfant. He was born 96 years ago in Taunton, the son of
the late Omer and Julia (Beaulieu) Bonenfant. He was educated in Taunton and had been
a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as the Sealer of
Weights and Measures for the City of Taunton for 33 years. A founder of the Taunton
Federal Credit Union, Mr. Bonenfant served as Cash and Payroll Manager, as well as
serving on the Board of Directors until retiring in 2002 after 60 years of service. He was
a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Phillippines in the Asiatic-
Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the David F. Adams Post # 611 Veterans of For-
eign Wars. He was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
He leaves:

1 sister: Gertrude Romanus of West Bridgewater
2 grandsons: Mark Bonenfant of East Bridgewater
John Bonenfant of Huntingtown, Md.
4 great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Bonenfant was also the father of the late Jay Bonenfant of East Bridgewater.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street,
on Tuesday, July 7 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the
Apostle Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from
5:30 to 8:30 P.M.
