DRACUT - Eugenia (Koniditsiotes) Marcus, 82, a resident of Dracut, formerly of Peabody, died Thursday July 2nd, at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Daniel Marcus who predeceased her in 1970.
She was born in Lowell on September 14, 1926, and was a daughter of the late James and Panagiota (Tsakonas) Koniditsiotes. She received her education in the Lowell school system.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, Mrs. Marcus was employed for over 25 years as a sales clerk by the former Filene's Department Store at their Peabody and Burlington locations.
She was an active member of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell and she was very active in the church's Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was also an member of the local chapter of the Daughters of Penelope.
In her free time she enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a sister Eleni Kalivas of Haverhill, two nieces and their spouses, Demi Flanagan and Wally of Dracut, and Joanna and Col. Leslie R. Bryant, III MD, USAF, of Chugiak, AK, and a grandnephew Leslie R. Bryant IV of Austin, TX. She was also the sister of the late Peter and Evangelos Koniditsiotes
It being her wishes there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Tuesday at 12 noon in the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. Interment to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Mortgage Elimination Fund, C/O Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Fr. John Sarantos Way, Lowell, MA 01854, to the VNA of Greater Lowell PO Box 1965, Lowell, MA 01853-1965, or to the charity of ones choice.
